With the ever increasing costs and difficulties associated with siting, permitting and building new landfill space it is important to extend the life of existing sites as long as possible. Just one of our TDS systems with a 60ft by 150ft tarp replaces approximately 167 cubic yards of cover soil (6inch depth as required per regulation ) at a cost of about $4.00 a cu.yd. per day or $668 per day! If you consider that the average waste density is 1,500 lbs/cu.yd. With a potential revenue of $50.00 a ton, one TDS can save you as much as $6,263 (airspace) plus $668 (cover soil) =A total daily cost savings of approximately $7,000 or $1,820,000 annually
(based on a 5 day work week).

By covering each days waste in a 9,000 sq. ft. cell with six (6)inches of soil per government regulations, a landfill operation loses 130ft. of vertical revenue generating space or in excess of 43,000 cubic yards that could generate revenue of about $1,625,000 annually.

One TDS-30 can deploy and retrieve several tarps of various types and sizes in just minutes.
The tarps can be deployed and retrieved effortlessly in minutes with just one machine and one operator, saving costly time and labor.

 TARP DEPLOYMENT SPECIFICATIONS LIST

Frame:
The frame is made of heavy-duty gauge steel and able to support at least a 30ft. wide by (3) 100ft. long ballasted  6.5 oz. coated polypropylene tarps, with 5/16” chain sewn in pockets. Frame legs have shoes welded on to support the TDS unit in soft or muddy ground conditions.

Weight:
The TDS unit weighs around 3,000 lbs. and can easily be used in landfills with high sludge content.

Engine and Hydraulics System:
The engine (5 1/2hp Honda gas powered) and hydraulic system is of adequate size to operate the TDS machine spool that supports the specified tarps and capable to operate in all weather conditions.
The TDS machine comes with a manual control and a heavy-duty remote control unit for retracting and extending controls for rolling and unrolling the tarp covering system.

Tarp:
The size of the tarp on the TDS-30 is 30ft. wide and can hold up to (3) ballasted 100ft. in length.  There is 5/16” chain in pockets around perimeter and webbing reinforced edges and corners. However, tarp size can be of custom order to a shorter width depending on the working face. Also, the tarps can be ordered unballasted if working face is not subjected to high winds and the operator prefers to use a couple of tires to weigh down the tarp.

Quick Attaching To Existing Landfill Equipment:
The TDS is manufactured so no fixtures or brackets need to be added to your equipment. The brackets are manufactured right on the TDS unit. The blade of your equipment hooks under the bracket on the TDS unit and you are then simply ready to deploy or retrieve for your daily operation. It’s attaching simplicity enables the operator to place the TDS unit anywhere on site and also out of the way so he can continue using his landfill equipment elsewhere.

Existing Landfill Equipment:
The TDS can be moved and operated from D4 to D8 class bulldozers or CAT 826 size compactor.

Remote Control Unit:
The remote control unit has a maximum operating distance of 150 feet from the tarp machine. Easily operated by the operator inside his cab.

Warranty:
12 months on TDS unit only.  Tarps cannot be warranted. However, the tarps we use have a very high UV resistance and are of 21-mil thickness that make them very durable and should last with proper operator observation while deploying and retrieving over the working face.
